So someone’s come up with a bright idea to link your PDA or mobile to your car through bluetooth such, when you start your car, the car will report itself as being stolen if it doesn’t detect your phone or PDA.
Now, this seems like a great idea at first blush right? But, think about the following scenarios:
You’ve left your phone/PDA at home.
You’ve brought your phone/PDA with you, but you forgot to charge it up and now its dead.
You’ve brought your phone and its charged, but for some reason (like on my RAZR v3), it refuses to speak bluetooth until its reset.
Suddenly, not charging your phone is going to get you into hot water. For stealing. Your own car.
I suspect the system has some sort of secondary method of canceling the alarm (“Press driver mirror left-right-right-left-down-down-up within twenty seconds!”) but whose going to remember that.
